Hatch End Broadway Christmas Street Lighting Event 2013

By |November 6th, 2013

The 4th annual ‘Hatch End Broadway Street Lighting Event’, hosted by the Hatch End Trade Association took place on:

Friday 6th December, 2013  between  4pm & 6pm.

The lights were switched on by Hatch End’s very own British comedy legend Barry Cryer OBE.

Barry is a legend of British comedy, both as a writer and performer, and you’ll probably know him best from his hilarious performances in the long-running Radio 4 series I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.  When Barry moved to Hatch End 45 years ago it was a charming but quiet suburb.

The crowd were entertained by Barry with a joke and a rhyme prior to the lights being switched on.

Maises Herga Band played Christmas carols along with the Hatch End Free Church Choir.

This year we had a large number of traders taking part in offering drinks and nibbles, as well as special activities such as a photo booth at Krosbie & Co, a balloon artist at Pulver Carr and a roaming magician wooing the crowd.

Santas Grotto oustide Fellini’s was very busy and the raffle prizes were won by:

(Ticket no: 56) Mrs Singh from Harrow on the Hill won the tickets for Sleeping Beauty at the Harrow Arts Centre and

(Ticket no: 14) Mrs Sher of Hatch End won the large teddy bear.

I trust that everyone that attended enjoyed the event and there are more pictures available on our Facebook Page /cometohatchend.

Have a great Christmas and wish you all a prosperous new year for 2014.

Allan Carr

Co Chairman.
